The 17th National Seminar (NATSEM 2025) was successfully held at Berjaya Waterfront Hotel in Johor Bahru, Johor, from July 14 to 16, 2025. Organized by The Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP), this prestigious event focused on the theme "From Plantation to Preservation: The Role of Oil Palm in Sustainable Vegetable Oil Production," highlighting challenges, trends, and future developments in the plantation industry—particularly the oil palm sector’s strides in embracing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through innovation, collaboration, and pioneering initiatives.
Among the participants, IAS made a notable presence at NATSEM 2025, where it showcased two of its flagship products: the IAS-6100 Portable Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Analyzer and the IAS-PAT L1M Online Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Analyzer.
The compact and portable IAS-6100 drew crowds at the IAS booth. Integrating advanced Digital Exposure Spectroscopy technology, it delivers exceptional sensitivity and accuracy within a streamlined design. Capable of rapid, non-destructive analysis in under two minutes, it provides critical insights into parameters vital for production quality and cost control. These include Free Fatty Acid (FFA), Moisture, DOBI, and Oil Content in samples such as Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernels and production waste. Its versatility extends to various sample forms – fine particles, powders, flakes, and pastes – meeting rapid testing needs across the entire value chain, from raw material intake and production processes to final product inspection.
